A Stunning Oak Longcase Clock Retailed by “Harrods Ltd London”
The lockable glazed hood has turned columns to the corners and pierced brass frets to the sides which allow the sound to be clear. The long lockable truck has a shaped door edged with a rope moulding and a curved glass aperture to the centre. The base has a rope edged square to the centre and sits on a plinth base.
The square brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with black numerals and is divided by Fleur-De-Lis to the minutes. there is a silvered chapter ring depicting seconds. At the 6 O'clock position is a silvered cartouche depicting “Harrods Ltd London”. there are four cherub head spandrels to the corners.
The eight day movement strikes the hours on a single gong and is driven by two brass weights on pulley's. the hands are serpentine shaped and are of blue steel. The pendulum consists of a flat metal rod with a flat lead adjustable bob. The clock is in excellent working order.
